Audaces fortuna juvat (fortune favors the bold)

My name is Joh Klein, and I'm a 33-year-old American living in Manila, Philippines.  I'm originally from Boston (born, bred, and educated - go Red Sox!), and moved here to work for the ADB (see CV).  My professional interest is development finance (my tense compromise between humanism and capitalism), but I'm an intellectual dabbler and at various times have studied everything from biology to martial arts to Urdu.

I love to travel, and the nature of my job keeps me traveling to highly varied, extremely photogenic (see photos), and breathtakingly unlikely, places.  Countries in the past year have included Cambodia, Turkmenistan, Vanuatu, Bangladesh, and Turkey.  

When I'm not traveling, I like reading, exploring Manila's peppy nightlife, and indulging in the specialties of the Philippines - beaches, diving, surfing, etc.
